Editorial principles

Last updated: 18 July 2026

GoalPulz publishes two kinds of content: data pages generated from our football database, and written analysis produced by our editorial desk. This page sets out how the written work is made, what standards it is held to, and where the boundaries are.

How an analysis is produced

Our models surface candidate angles from expected goals, recent form and home/away splits. A GoalPulz analyst then chooses, edits and approves what is published. No model suggestion is published automatically, and no piece goes out without a person deciding it should.

Writing tools assist with structure and language. They do not decide what we think. Where a claim is a model output rather than a human judgement, we say so in the text.

What we will not publish

  • Certainty we do not have. Football is probabilistic; analysis that promises outcomes is dishonest analysis.
  • Numbers we cannot trace to a source. If the data is not there, the claim does not get made.
  • Another publisher’s reporting rewritten and presented as ours.
  • Transfer rumours or injury claims dressed up as confirmed fact.
  • Staking advice, bankroll instructions, or any framing that treats analysis as a betting system.

Analysis is not betting advice

GoalPulz is a football data and analysis site. We publish probabilities, model reads and editorial judgement to help you understand a match. We do not tell you what to bet, and nothing on the site should be treated as a tip or a guarantee. If gambling is causing you harm, seek support from a national help service.

Independence and commercial content

Advertising and any sponsored placement are kept separate from editorial judgement. Advertisers do not see analysis before publication, do not influence which matches we cover, and cannot have a piece changed or removed. Where content is commercial, it is labelled as such.

Accuracy and correction

We get things wrong sometimes, and the useful response is to fix them visibly rather than quietly. Material errors are corrected and noted, not deleted. See corrections for how to report one and what happens next.

How the underlying numbers are calculated is documented in full on the methodology page, and their provenance on data sources.
